Exciting news! We are planning an extended trip to Kalbarri over the Queen’s Birthday weekend (September 26-30). We’re renting a bus to drive up, and staying at the Kalbarri Backpackers, where we’ve booked two dorm-style rooms, sleeping 8 and 12. As the Friday and the Tuesday are the driving days you’ll need the full 5 days to participate.

We will be planning walks in the Kalbarri National Park details here http://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/park/kalbarri, both in the Murchison River gorge and along the coast. A walk from the z-bend to Eagles Bluff is one of the attractions. There is more information on Kalbarri here http://www.kalbarri.org.au/.

Food will be included, although you should budget on one or two meals out in town. Due to the food, accommodation and vehicle costs, the trip is a bit more expensive, at $350/head. There are only 20 places available, and we need to get deposits soon so we can confirm the vehicle and accommodation bookings. Because of the cost, we are allowing folk to pay in three instalments, $100 by the end of April, $100 by the end of June, and $150 by the end of August. In the unlikely event we don’t get enough bookings, the trip will be cancelled, and refunds issued. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer refunds if you cancel – but can accept substitutions. To book your spot, you can pay your April deposit of $100 at any club event, or do a transfer to Westpac BSB: 036-067 Account: 494169. Please use your full name as reference, so we can see who paid. As usual with Wanderers weekend events you need to have attended at least one day walk with the group before joining a weekend event, but there are several day walks scheduled before September so this should not be a problem for anyone. Folk who are not paid up members will need to pay an additional $10 insurance fee as with any other event
